I think it helps everything soak into the bread and make it a little more moisture throughout, but you don’t have to.

Sure, you can definitely reduce them to your desired amount. You just may not need to bake the casserole as long.

You can use whatever you prefer. I believe I used red, but I think a combo of red and green would be great too.
