4 Fun Ways to Spice Up Your Marriage

Been married a while? Love life not as vibrant as it used to be? Don’t fret – virtually every couple who are past the honeymoon stage can recognise the point where their love life isn’t as saucy or touchy-feely as it used to be. People become relaxed into their life and routines, and sometimes focusing on your spouse can fall by the wayside. It almost seems like they just become part of the furniture – always there, but never appreciated! It’s not that you don’t love each other anymore though; it’s just a natural progression.

If you’ve noticed your love life has waned a little, perhaps try some of these fun ways to spice up your marriage and inject some extra passion into your married life.

Why not book a holiday and spend some quality time together?

Why not book a holiday and spend some quality time together?

1. Make Time for Couple Time

One of the hardest things for working married couples, especially those with children, is to find time for each other during the course of the day. That’s where starting daily rituals or scheduling in time comes in handy. Small rituals can really help keep the love in a marriage, even if it’s as simple as having a coffee in the morning together every day or having a bubble bath together at night. If a more saucy ritual for this scheduled time together is what you had in mind, online stores like Naughty But Nice could definitely provide you with some spicy ideas! These small rituals give you at least a little snippet of time together to focus on each other every day.

2. A Little Spontaneity Never Goes Astray

Got no plans this weekend? Surprise your other half by having flowers delivered to your home in Eltham or wherever you live, or do a booking for an activity they’ll love, whether it’s cinema tickets or even a weekend away if you’ve got the time. Don’t tell them about it until the last minute though – maybe even make them breakfast and surprise them with the tickets while they’re tucking into eggs and bacon. They’ll be so thrilled and grateful that you’ve planned something special for them that you’ll both be in a good mood all weekend. Other than that, you could experiment with making your bedroom time more interesting. You could experiment with different positions or incorporate intimate toys such as sex dolls to bring out their playful sexual side. It might not only surprise them, but it might also give your relationship a little extra sexual satisfaction.

3. Leave Little Notes for Your Spouse in Unexpected Places

This one’s for the true romantics at heart. Writing little notes and putting them in spots you know your partner will find them throughout the day re-affirms that you’re in their thoughts. They’ll get such a thrill when they find a cute note from you in their briefcase or jewellery box, and will feel very special! It’s a great way to show your loved one that you really are thinking of them and it may even give them some unexpected extra pep if they’re having a lacklustre day.

4. Hire a Babysitter

Marriage after kids can be draining; there really is no time for each other when you’ve got little ones running you ragged! So, one night a week, hire a babysitter and go do something you both enjoy, whether it’s the movies, going out to dinner, playing some mini golf… anything you used to do before children. In the long term, you might want to consider hiring an au pair, who is usually an international transfer, and can stay with your family for extended periods of time to provide the support you need. Whether you need some time off by yourselves, or you need some child-related tasks taken care of, or even simply a caring companion for your kids, an au pair could be a good choice. Remember to do your research on websites like Go Au Pair (https://www.goaupair.com/host-families/view-au-pairs/) before you choose one, however!

Whether you’ve been married for one year or 50, there are always little things you can do to keep the spice in your relationship. If times are tough (or there’s not enough time to go around), just remember why you got married in the first place – that’ll give you an idea of how you can make your partner feel special!
