Are you fed up with going to work each day? Do you hate your job, or the people that have employed you? If the answer to either question is yes, today’s blog post is for you! You will no doubt recognise that many people are in the same boat as you.
You may have thought about finding another job and working for someone else. But, what happens if the new company you work for are just as bad? Or the work you need to do is more stressful than your current role?
As you can imagine, there are no guarantees that you’ll end up in a job you love working for some cool people! On that note, I’d like to play devil’s advocate and suggest you start a business instead! If you’re not convinced, the following eight reasons will help you to change your mind:
1. You hate office politics
One of the things I don’t miss about working for someone else is office politics. You would not believe the amount of backstabbing that occurs in an office environment!
2. You like to be creative
Sometimes the only way you can be 100% creative is if you have the freedom to do things your way. If your boss always looks over your shoulder, you won’t feel like offering any of your creativity.
3. You enjoy working from home
Another thing I don’t miss is the morning commute to work in rush hour. Sometimes if I’m feeling particularly lazy, I may work from bed! Another bonus is you don’t have to work to a strict time schedule. 9-5 hours are a thing of the past!
4. You want to set up a franchise
Is there a brand that you would love to work with? If so, franchises are a great way to have the “best of both worlds”! A CertaPro franchise, for example, gives you the freedom to run a business but promote a good brand.
5. You lower your tax liabilities
When you work as an employee, you have to pay lots of tax for the privilege. But, when you work for yourself, your tax liabilities are lower! It’s a strange fact, but it’s true.
6. You have a legacy to leave
If your goal is to build a family business, you can take pride in the fact that you’ve got a legacy to leave your loved ones. When you work for someone else, you don’t have that opportunity.
7. You might even get rich
People like Bill Gates and Richard Branson started their businesses from home. They weren’t rich when they started out; yet, look at them today. You could join the ranks of wealthy people in business!
8. You get to do things your way
Fed up of getting told to do dumb things by your boss? Now’s your chance to prove that your ideas and methods are better than theirs! Who knows; you might even become so successful you could buy your former employer!
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s blog post. Thanks for reading it!
