If you are a person who smokes and you are at that point in your life where you would like to stop then check out these tips to help you quit smoking easily. You may consider trying the vaping products (like those sold by www.DaVincivaporizer.com), these are harmless and are designed for those who are having a hard time quitting to smoke the real cigarettes. It is never to late to start, or stop in this case.

Positive thinking

The power of positive thinking can change a person’s life; you just need to believe that you can do it, especially if you have tried before without much luck. Give yourself a pep talk and keep telling yourself that you can do it, eventually you will.

Create a plan to quit smoking

You need to make a promise to yourself, set and date to stop and then stick to it. Do not let yourself fall into the trap of postponing stopping because you have to attend a wedding or that it is Christmas. Mark the date on your calendar so that you know exactly when you need to quit.

Transition

Sticking to your plan is the hardest part. Nicotine is addictive and you won’t be able to help yourself from craving it – that’s why you get withdrawal symptoms. Your body is desperate for a nicotine hit, but don’t give it what it wants. If you’re really struggling with withdrawal, one tried and tested method is to transition onto a less addictive drug, like marijuana. It will still give you the feeling of smoking, but without all the highly addictive and toxic substances found in cigarettes. You will need all the necessary marijuana paraphernalia, such as a big bong for when you’re at home or wrapping papers for when you’re out, but you should be saving a lot of money on not buying cigarettes, so a marijuana smoking kit shouldn’t be too difficult to afford. By transitioning yourself onto a less harmful drug like this, you should find that you suddenly no longer need nicotine and it’ll be much easier to stop smoking altogether sometime soon after that.

Change your diet

Studies have shown that certain foods make cigarettes taste terrible after a meal such as vegetables, fruit and cheese. Meat is one of the foods that you should avoid as much as possible if you plan on quitting smoking. Order a veggie pizza instead of going for the usual steak.

Change what you drink

The same studies have shown that fizzy drinks, coffee, tea and alcohol make cigarettes taste better, so it is advisable that you rather go for a fruit juice or water when you are trying to stop smoking.

Figure out when it is that you crave a smoke

Craving can last for up to five minutes, so you need to come up with some five-minute plans to keep yourself occupied when the craving hits. Plus, there is the fact that smoking and drinking increases your chances of developing mouth cancer by 38 percent – something to think about!

Get support

You could suggest to your friends and family who also want to quit, that you all join a support group to help you through the process. There are a number of groups that are dedicated to helping people quit smoking, just check your local listings for their contact details. You could also get support from medications available online at places like menschem.co.uk if you feel like you may need that little extra boost in addition to your willpower.

Get moving

Studies have proved that exercise can reduce your cravings to smoke. Even a five-minute walk can help to keep your mind off the next cigarette, so get moving today and quit this bad habit forever.

Find friends who do not smoke

If you surround yourself with people who do not smoke, you are less likely to get the craving for a cigarette. If all your friends already smoke, then it may be time to find some new ones who do not. Joining a gym is a great place to meet people who take their health seriously.

Keep your mouth and hands busy

Nicotine replacement therapy can be very beneficial to your goal of quitting smoking. Patches and pills, sprays and gum will also help in your quest to become cigarette free. Try drinking through a straw to keep your mouth busy of hold your drink in the hand you normally use for holding your smoke.

Make a list

You will find that there are days where you do not want to continue, but you need to remind yourself why you wanted to quit in the first place. Make a list of the reasons why you want to stop and put it on your fridge so that you can remind yourself why you are doing this.
